Q: 1. How will this course benefit me?

A: There are many benefits from this course including an ability to be peaceful and happy, to relate better with people, to perform to the best of your intelligence in a given situation etc. The fundamental benefit is to know oneself better. When one knows oneself better, one can master his/her actions.
Usually, we just react to what happens to us or around us. Through this self knowledge, one can change one’s actions and as a result, one’s destiny.
There are many other benefits; some of them are listed in the Testimonials where current and old students have shared the benefits they have received from Gnosis.

Q: 2. How is this course different from other courses / meditation practices?

A: Really, this question can be only answered by yourself once you have experienced Gnosis. There are many students in Gnosis who have gone through other courses before and have found Gnosis to be very useful. Many of the teachers of Gnosis have also gone through other courses before finding Gnosis. The benefit or value of a course like this can only be realized after trying / experiencing it for some time.

Although Science has progressed a lot in the last decades, we see -in Gnosis, that the human being has many aspects that Science has not yet been able to discover. For example, there are many diseases that modern medicine is unable to cure; because a human being is a very complex machine. A human being is not formed only by physical mater, but by an interaction of different types of structures and energies that Science does not want to accept. We have physical, emotional and mental structures, Consciousness and other higher energies...
Gnosis offers many approaches / techniques to understand all those different aspects of ourselves, as for example, many types of meditation practices that include Mantras, Yogic and psychological practices…
There are also techniques like the study of our dreams (yes, our dreams carry messages for us, that we should try to understand), of our habits, emotions, relationships, etc., in order to understand ourselves better and to live better.
This is usually different from other courses where the focus is on following a single practice or approach. Very few courses give students so many options.

Q: 3. What do I need to do to begin the course?

A: You just need to contact the nearest Gnostic Centre, by email, phone or Post, and find out about the next available regular course. If you are close to a Centre, it is advisable to begin a regular course. Regular Course involves a Lecture & Meditation session, to be attended once or twice a week, usually along with a group of students. This allows the interaction with the teachers and the other students and to get the maximum benefit from the course.
If you cannot attend a regular course, then there is an option to begin a Correspondence course. Here, the study material will be sent to you along with recorded tapes / CD’s for lectures. You can ask questions / interact with the teacher through email or phone. It is advisable to visit the teachers once in a while so that the progress can be reviewed. However, in the Correspondence course, the student will not be able to benefit from the group practices (meditation, etc.) and this could delay his / her progress."

Q 4: How much time do I need to commit to this course?

A: The course is divided into the following sections:

=> PHASE A:
BASIC I - 10 classes
BASIC II - 10 classes

=> PHASE B: 20 classes

=> PHASE C: 20 classes

Each class last around one and half hours and it happens once in a week. Therefore approximately, each Phase will take about 5 months to be completed. However, the actual time taken to complete each course would depend upon the individual effort and study the student will undertake. Getting the lecture and meditation guidelines from the teacher once or twice a week is just one part of the course; the self study and effort from the student, during the rest of the week, will lead to real progress. The more effort and work done by the student during the rest of the week, the better is the progress, and the course can be completed faster.

Q 5: I am a young person and I don’t see someone of my age doing meditation. Is this relevant to people of my age?

A: It is a misconception that only elder people should meditate. This is not true. Meditation is relevant to anyone, at any stage of his/her life. Most of us are living a stressful life in these times; if you are one of them and you want to discover your Inner Self and learn to keep your calm, Gnosis is most definitely for you, irrespective of your age. People, from the very young to the very old, can learn from Gnosis and enjoy all the benefits. There is no reason why you can’t.

People from different age groups are already taking benefit from Gnosis in India as well as in other parts of the world. If you look at some of the testimonies of the current students in India, you will see that most are young. In fact, there are many school going children as well who are attending the course regularly and are encouraged by their teachers and schools to benefit from Gnosis (please see testimonies).

Q 6: Does Gnosis interfere with personal religious beliefs or encourage conversion of religion in any way?

A: The answer to the above is a NO. Gnosis is a secular practice in itself, and teaches the inherent values associated with all religions. There are thousands of people worldwide from different religions that are participating in Gnosis courses either as students or as teachers. Gnosis encourages respect for all religions. In the study material of Gnosis you will find spiritual practices from all religions of the world, current and ancient. We never encourage you to go against your religion or to even consider conversion.

The meditation practices and the lectures reveal the essence of each religion, which is common to all of them, like the sacred nature of human life, respect for all forms of life, the process of self–awakening, leading to a better relationship with oneself and with others, etc...

Q 7: What if I start the course and then stop mid-way? Do I have to complete all the three course levels continuously?

A: While there is no problem in leaving a course mid way, you will enjoy the full benefits of the course only if you practice what you have learnt regularly and complete each course. Having said that, we would also like to make it clear that you will not be forced into staying, if you do not feel like, as the process of self-discovery happens only when one is willing. In no way it can be forced onto anyone.

It is advisable to complete all the three course levels since the momentum of self-study and practice helps one to make significant progress. However, if you want to do one course level and then stop or take a break, it is fine as well. There is no force or pressure to continue the courses. The courses only help the process of self-discovery that can only happen when one is willing.

Q 8: Apart from attending class, what am I required to do on my own?

A: At the end of every class, you are given a booklet with information on all that was covered in class. You are advised to read it before the next class and come prepared for the next class with any questions or observations or any experiences. Additionally, you would be advised to meditate / practice the techniques you have learnt on your own for some time daily. As you meditate or practice regularly, you would also be supported in your effort to apply them in daily life. The teachers will help by answering your questions, doubts etc and also by sharing their experiences or those of other students. This helps accelerate the learning.

Please look at this course and your teachers as only a support to help you in your process of self-discovery. Your progress on this path and the benefits you will get will depend ultimately on the interest you take and the effort you put in understanding the lectures and practices and later practicing them in your daily life regularly.
